Well I have always wanted to work with children. And have thought that working in an orphanage would be one of the ways I could use my desire for the Lord. Next month I will get an opportunity to work in an orphanage in South America for a couple of weeks. I can’t wait.

Tracy- I’ll pray that God will give you wisdom and direction with that. Teenagers desperately need strong Christians in their lives, so I’m sure that you’d be of great help.
Lidia- I used to have a strong desire to work in an orphanage (okay, I still kinda do), but God has led me in a different direction. Anyway, I’m excited for you!! I’ll be praying for you, and hope that you’ll give us an update when you get back!

I’ve always been interested in Holocaust studies, so I hope to get involved with genocide prevention organizations. I also feel drawn to the Jewish people; I’ve taken two years of Hebrew and hope to visit Israel someday and make even more ties with the community.

The mission of looking for opportunities to share the gospel with people, with people that I currently know as friends (and family) as well as with people that I don’t know. Making good first impressions with people (hopefully), as well as sharing the gospel via the written word and/ or the invitation to my church, are the avenues for this, while driven by the power of the Holy Spirit.

This is a fun question! I wanna hear from more people on this. It sounds like everyone’s got some awesome plans!
I am hoping to connect with a couple who pair up an international student at the local university with someone for some English practice/tutoring that uses the Bible as a reference for practice.

LORD willing I want to be a Pastor. I want to be a Shepherd who faithfully watches over the flock that God entrusts to me. I want to feed them the WORD week in and week out until the day I die. I want to chase away the wolves that seek to eat the sheep and scatter the flock. I hope that this is not super spiritual, it is what I feel called by God to do.

“Be…a missionary..everyday (clap, clap, clap). Tell the world that Jesus is the way” Ever since I was in 3rd grade I saw myself as a missionary, always being open to find the opportunity to share. Yesterday, it was with a nurse. We talked about faith, loss of friends, jobs and all ended in a hug, some tears and an email exchange. Because as the song finishes. “The Lord is soon returning there is no time to lose! Be a Missionary. God’s own emissary. Be a Missionary To daaaaayyyaaay! M-I-S-S-I-O-N-A-R-Y!
oh yeah…and encourage cool singles on a website.

Wow, everyone has such huge plans. That’s awesome. I feel like God has been preparing me for a battle within my family. Without going into too much detail, there are some major problems in the life of one of my immediate family members & God is working. This is going to be a long hard road and healing is a big part. Prayers would be appreciated. I also need to share this with my community at church. I haven’t done that yet and prayers fot the words and opportunity would be great. This is all I can handle on my plate right now. Thanks everyone.

I have a passion for orphans and missions. I’m not for sure what this will look like, but I have a possibility to serve somewhere this summer. I also enjoy discipling and getting together and encouraging other believers.
I’m also being reminded that my mission field is where I am right now.

Mentioned on my wall, but having been given a much more significant role in the music at the church I attend recently, that pretty much covers it at the moment. Give me a few months, I’m sure there’ll be a new perspective .

gracebyfaith: If you don’t already know about it, check out Sweet Sleep – a Christian org that provides beds, bedding, and Bibles to orphaned kids in Moldova, Uganda, and Haiti. They do mission trips (building beds, distributing bedding and Bibles, lovin’ on kids) throughout the year.

I’m not sure exactly what my mission is to be. I’m sorta already in Christian ministry in what I do for a living. But I am sensing some future possibilities of expanding one of the volunteering opps I have into something offered to more churches/Christian orgs – it’s an idea that hasn’t fully germinated, so I’m not ready to share deets yet. The other thing is singing – I love it and want to do more, just not sure what yet. I’m keeping my eyes/ears peeled for opps that God shows me.

Agreed, the current mission field lies within our surroundings.
My current callings are providing encouragement and counsel to friends, serving in my local church, being a witness to non Christian friends and colleagues, and reaching out to internationals around DC, especially with the ESL and outreach ministry to Chinese students. I also have an interest in missions and international development work, and try to participate in small ways on those fronts.

God has been preparing me, and continues to prepare me for my work in palliative care – through great mentors, different experiences, and more. Sometimes the work is so challenging… but its always so good to be able to help… and I’m excited about what the future holds for me in this field of medicine/nursing. I didn’t expect this role/mission in life – but God’s plans are always good and quite exciting! I pray mostly that in my work I will always be a good witness for Him.
