Focus on the Family’s Adventures in Odyssey program turns 25 this year. Were you an Odyssey fan growing up?

I did not listen to it much. :( But I think that if I had I would have been a fan. :)
I have some friends that that is what their kids listen to when they go to sleep.

I have fond memories of listening to Adventures in Odyssey with my family on our long drive to visit my grandparents. I loved them as a kid. Like Lidia, I had friends growing up that would fall to sleep listening to them every single night. We never got into it that much, but they were token travel tools for my family. I suppose minivans have TVs now but that wasn’t the case for us growing up.

My 21 year old sister and I still listen to it online occasionally. :) Made long roadtrips go faster. Listening to Odyssey was my Saturday morning ritual until I started watching cartoons.

I wouldn’t define myself as a fan, but I would say my family is collectively a fan. We listened to it every Saturday morning. My grandmother insists on calling me Eugene, because she has this conception of me as a nerd who uses big words all the time. Not afraid to say that I actually feel flattered by that nickname.

I’ll admit to being one of those kids who listened to Adventures in Odyssey as I fell asleep. I really liked their re-telling of Bible stories. My sister was a serious fan and acquired a large collection of the tapes, so I made her a wooden “tape tower” that would hold a stack of them that she could remove from the bottom. I’m not sure that she used it much, now that I think about it.

Yes I loved Adventures in Odyssey and still listen to it. There is a new one that is kid friendly with The Truth Project ideas. I play it on Sundays for the kids I take to church with me. Then we talk about it briefly before going into church. It has spurred some good conversations.

I grew up listening to it on a regular basis. I remember years and years ago when I was like 10, on a trip to Colorado Springs we visited FOTF and so the Odyssey area / kidzone. It was cool for a little kid! :=)

Such a great series, I remember listening to them every Saturday when I would drive around town with my parents. There isn’t that much clean, wholesome programing on these days (sigh).

My family and I have been listening for as long as I can remember, both Saturday morning and weekday evenings. Not so much lately, but I’m still a fan. I went to AIO’s 20th birthday bash in Colorado Springs, and quite possibly to the upcoming 25th celebration as well.

I remember listening to them as a kid. I loved them! If mom wasn’t reading a book to us just then, I’d be one of the first to have one the Adventures starting up. :) It’s something I would want my kids to be able to enjoy.

I listened throughout my growing up years and loved it! I often would fall asleep listening to Odyssey. In college, I discovered that my roommate listened to Odyssey as well, and we started listening to Odyssey as we fell asleep at night, and did so until we graduated from college. :)

Never listened to Adventures in Odyssey – I grew up on Patch the Pirate!

Nearly every weekday at 4:00 everything we happened to be working on (schoolwork, music practice, chores) came to a grinding halt while we paused for “tea time” and Adventures in Odyssey. :) We continue the tradition today with the little girl that we keep. (Except now with the programs available online “tea time” can be any time we all need a break.)

I had never heard of it until I heard one of my college roommates listening to it while she was cooking. Sounds like it would have been fun to listen to growing up.

I love love listening to their stories. Even now from time to time I’ll listen online. Just bought some of their cds for my niece to start to enjoy them.
