I am thankful that I now have a higher-speed internet connection in my house, and I’m also thankful that my house has a phone line as well so that I can still fall back on dial-up when the new internet doesn’t work!

I hate to be shallow but right this moment, I am very thankful for my Venti nonfat coconut mocha frappuccino. Starbucks had me at “hello.”

I’m thankful for car repairs that cost less than expected, for my upcoming vacation, and today’s afternoon nap. :) But mostly, I’m thankful for what the Lord has done in my life. The love of my Father makes me speechless, especially today.

I’m thankful for friends that challenge us to walk more closely with our Savior.

Today I am thankful for 2 days off in a row and 3 weekends off in a row. Refresh my soul, mind and body. God is good.

Very thankful I”ve made it through all of 2010 without missing ANY work from sinus infections! I’ve never made it more than 6 months before- so I’m on a roll :)

Not superstitious either, but making comments like this before- around the 6 month period- has always seemed to end my streaks… NOT this time please Lord.
I’m aiming at making it an entire year!
Very thankful either way for good health every day~

Thankful for service, love, sacrifice, and freedom. True story! our family always say “thank you for serving our country” to any service/military personel we see. Last week at Panda Express, our youngest daughter saw a gentlemen in his fatigues and said “Can I go say thanks?” We said “sure if you want to do it this time”. She went up to him (he was paying for his food), said thank you and he looked back at us while we gave him the thumbs up! Then he came over to our table, ripped off the flag on his right shoulder (velcro) and said “this has been to Afganistan and Iraq” and handed it to our daughter, then just walked out to his car! I was in tears as he walked away. We didn’t even have time to get name, rank nothing. Just amazed at his gift to our family and thankful for his service.

This is one of my favorite questions to ask my patients. :)

Today, I’m grateful that practicing gratitude changes our brain chemistry, that I have an ever-present hope for others that rarely falters, the Holy Spirit’s indwelling to guide me, the wind that reminds me of God’s presence, a supervisor who is also a believer, life and its nuances that make me laugh throughout the day, a job, a clean apartment, my own office that feels cozy, Mom’s visit to see me was spectacularly fun, the rain, and I could go on and on…

I’m thankful that, although I am sitting here listening to the rats run around in my ceiling, they are NOT inside the house!

And I’m thankful for the people that God puts into my life to be “family” to me when I’m so far away from my own!

I’m thankful that I have enough to eat and a bed that isn’t a pile of blankets.

And life is much easier with a reliable wireless internet connection right in my house.

I am thankful for my family, who put up with all my weirdness.

I am thankful for my church family, knowing they will be there for me if I need something.

I am thankful that even when my boss flakes on me and cuts my hours down to zero (though she has not let me go), God still provides for me financially.

I am thankful for the wonderful families I babysit for. Being able to have a blast with their children is something I will always love!

Birthday surprises to give, how my nephew’s eyes light up when he smiles, making chocolate souffle with friends, laughing with family, hugs from 2nd graders who love you “just because,” meaningful conversations, real letters in the mail, and above all, GRACE! :)
